Publishing Rules

These rules apply when you publish music and artwork on Soup. Publishing means you confirm that you are responsible for the material and have permission to share it.

Human-made music only

Soup does not host music generated wholly or substantially by generative AI. Prompt-generated songs or instrumentals, generated vocals or cloned performances, and generated stems that form a substantial part of a work are not allowed. Lightly editing or mixing generated music does not make it human-authored.

Normal production tools remain welcome. This includes synthesisers, samplers, conventional effects, pitch and timing correction, restoration, noise reduction, stem separation, accessibility tools and mastering assistance that does not author the substantial musical content. The creator must remain responsible for the composition, performance and substantive decisions.

Rights and permission

Only publish audio and artwork that you made, own or have permission to use. Samples, performances, collaborations and artwork must be cleared where permission is required. Soup has no separate policy or declaration for AI-generated artwork; the same copyright and safety rules apply to all artwork.

How publishing works

Every verified account may have up to two owned live tracks. Artwork is required and an artist note is optional. Comments are enabled by default and may be disabled by the owner. Soup may process uploaded media to provide a reliable stream without changing its creative content.

Review and removal

Suspected AI-generated music and copyright concerns are reviewed by a person. Automated tools may help prioritise review but are not the sole basis for removal. Soup may ask for reasonable authorship or provenance information. One appeal is available for a moderation decision, and repeated deliberate violations may lead to publishing restrictions or account removal.
